Key Rules & Responsibilities (Renter Must Follow)
- Load must be completely covered with a tarp or net at all times on public roads. Uncovered loads can result in $50+ fines.
- Renter is fully responsible for all dump fees at Miramar Landfill (5180 Convoy St, San Diego). Fees typically range from $40–$150 depending on material and residency.
- Landfill hours: Monday–Saturday 7am–4pm. Closed Sundays and major holidays.
- Prohibited items: No hazardous waste, liquids, tires (unless shredded), paint, chemicals, electronics, appliances, or asbestos.
- Maximum load: Do not exceed 3,000 lbs. Never load more than two-thirds full with heavy material (wet dirt, gravel, concrete, etc.). Overloading voids the deposit and may damage the trailer.
- No off-road use. Trailer must be returned clean and empty.
- Battery must be returned with at least 50% charge.
- Renter may not park or leave the trailer unattended on any public street overnight in San Diego. Renter is responsible for any parking tickets or towing fees.
- Late return fee: $75 per day or any portion of a day (in addition to the daily rate).
- If trailer is not returned within 24 hours of the due time, it may be reported as stolen.
Terms
Renter is responsible for all damage beyond normal wear and tear, all fines, and any cleaning fees ($75 minimum if trailer is not returned clean). Renter confirms their auto insurance covers towing this trailer.
